New Moon in Leo and Solar Eclipse

🌑 Solar Eclipse & New Moon in Leo 2026

What Were You Starting in 2017 That You’re Ready to Change in 2026?

On 12th August 2026, we have a powerful Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Leo. This feels like an important turning point, especially because it connects us back to another major Leo eclipse in August 2017.

Think back to where you were nine years ago. What was happening in your life? Were you starting a new job, business or relationship? Were you becoming more confident, putting yourself out there or trying to create a different life?

The reason 2017 is important is because during that Leo eclipse season, the North Node was in Leo. In 2026, the story has turned around, with the South Node in Leo.

The North Node is about growth, new experiences and the person we are learning to become. The South Node is connected with what we already know — our familiar patterns, past experiences and sometimes the things we've simply outgrown.

So we can look at this nine-year story very simply:

2017 — What were you becoming?

2026 — What have you now outgrown?

🦁 Leo: Confidence, Identity & Being Seen

Leo is ruled by the Sun and is connected with confidence, creativity, leadership, identity and being seen.

Back in 2017, you may have been encouraged to step forward, take a chance or become more confident in who you were. Perhaps you started something that eventually became a huge part of your identity.

Maybe it was your career, a business, a relationship, becoming a parent, putting yourself online or simply learning to believe in yourself.

Now, nine years later, the Solar Eclipse asks:

Does it still fit?

You don't have to throw away everything you've created. This is about noticing how much you've changed.

Maybe the career you desperately wanted doesn't excite you in the same way anymore. Perhaps you've spent years being the strong one and you're tired of carrying everything. Maybe you've achieved the success you once wanted, but your idea of success has completely changed.

That's the South Node in Leo.

It isn't saying stop shining.

It's saying:

You don't have to keep proving yourself in the same way.

🌑 It's Also a New Moon in Leo

This Solar Eclipse is also a New Moon, giving us the energy of a new beginning.

Normally, New Moons are a wonderful time to set intentions and think about what we want to create or manifest. But because this New Moon is an eclipse connected with the South Node, I think we need to approach this one slightly differently.

Before asking:

“What do I want next?”

Ask yourself:

“What do I need to let go of first?”

Sometimes we're so busy asking for new things that we forget to make room for them.

We want a new relationship while still holding onto the past. We want a different career while being frightened to leave what feels safe. We want abundance while our homes, diaries and minds are already completely full.

This New Moon isn't necessarily about adding more.

It could be about creating space for something better.

✨ From 2017 to 2026

Go back and look at photographs, Facebook memories, diaries or emails from 2017.

Notice who you were then.

What did you want? What were you working towards? What did success look like to you? What were you trying to prove? What did you think would make you happy?

Then look at your life now.

You might realise that you've actually manifested or achieved many of the things that the 2017 version of you desperately wanted.

But you may also realise that some of those dreams don't belong to you anymore.

And that's okay.

We change. Our dreams change. Our priorities change.

The life you wanted nine years ago doesn't have to be the life you want today.

The question now is:

What does the person you are today want to create next?

♒ From Leo to Aquarius

With the South Node in Leo and North Node in Aquarius, we're also being encouraged to look beyond ourselves.

Leo can say:

“Look what I can do.”

Aquarius asks:

“What can we create together?”

Perhaps you don't have to do everything yourself anymore. Maybe the next stage of your journey involves collaboration, community, new people, different ideas or simply doing things in a completely different way.

This isn't about becoming less successful or less visible.

It's about allowing your definition of success to change with you.

🏡 Feng Shui Tip — Activate the South & Be Visible

There is a lovely Feng Shui connection with all this Leo energy because the South area of the home is associated with recognition, reputation and visibility.

Leo wants us to shine, and the South asks us to look at how we're showing ourselves to the world.

Find the South area of your home using the compass on your phone and take a good look at what's happening there.

Is it cluttered? Dark? Forgotten? Is there anything broken or anything that represents an older version of you?

Clear the area, brighten it and give the energy some attention.

You could add extra lighting, a candle, something red or an object that represents something you're proud of achieving.

If you're growing a business, looking for recognition, putting yourself forward for something new or simply trying to become more confident, use your South area to support that intention.

But remember the South Node message.

There's a difference between being visible because you're confident in who you are and performing because you need somebody else's approval.

This Leo eclipse isn't asking you to shout louder.

It's asking you to become comfortable being seen as the person you are now.

☀️ Tarot Card — The Sun

The perfect Tarot card to work with alongside this Leo energy is, of course, The Sun.

The Sun represents confidence, happiness, success, positivity, clarity and being fully seen.

For manifestation, The Sun asks us a beautifully simple question:

What actually makes you happy?

Not what social media tells you should make you happy.

Not what looked successful to you in 2017.

Not what your family, friends or followers expect you to want.

What lights YOU up now?

Place The Sun Tarot card somewhere you can see it during this New Moon and Solar Eclipse. Spend a few moments looking at the card and imagine yourself feeling confident, happy and comfortable in the life you're creating.

Then ask yourself:

What is one thing I can actually do to move towards that life?

Because that's where manifestation becomes more than wishing.

See it. Feel it. Believe it's possible. Then take action.

✨ A Simple Leo Eclipse Manifestation Exercise

We've only just come through Lion's Gate and 8/8, so I don't think we need another complicated manifestation ritual.

Keep this one simple.

Take a piece of paper and write:

I am ready to release…

Write down what you're ready to stop carrying. It might be an old belief, habit, relationship pattern, expectation, fear or even a goal that doesn't feel right anymore.

Then underneath write:

I am ready to welcome…

Think about the person you are today rather than the person you were nine years ago.

What do you want now?

How do you want to feel?

What would make you genuinely happy?

And what would you choose if you weren't worried about what anybody else thought?

🌑 The Message of the Leo Solar Eclipse & New Moon

This eclipse isn't necessarily asking you to become a completely different person.

It's asking you to make sure that the life you're creating still belongs to the person you are today.

2017 was about becoming.

2026 is about recognising how much you've changed.

Keep what still feels right.

Release what doesn't.

Clear the space.

Allow yourself to be seen.

And then decide what you want to create next.

Perhaps the most powerful manifestation question to ask under this Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse isn't:

“What can I manifest?”

Perhaps it's:

“What am I ready to release so the person I am now has room to shine?”
