New Moon in Virgo: Reset, Release & Realign 🌑✨

September brings a real turning-point feeling. After August’s eclipse season stirred up changes, realisations, endings and shifts in direction, the New Moon in Virgo brings us back down to earth and asks a much simpler question:

What are you going to do differently now?

The New Moon on the 11th September, arrives after the August eclipses, making this feel much less like another dramatic shake-up and much more like the moment when we begin putting everything we have learned into practice.

Virgo isn't particularly interested in a huge vision that never gets acted upon.

It wants to know:

What is the plan?
What needs sorting?
What could work better?
What habit needs changing?
What can you actually do today?

That's why this New Moon is wonderful for intentions around healthier routines, work, business systems, organisation, decluttering, time management, wellbeing and creating a lifestyle that genuinely supports where you want to go next.

Virgo is ruled by Mercury, so there's also a strong mental element to this lunation. It's about sorting through the noise, looking at the facts and becoming clearer about what deserves your time and energy.

And because Virgo is a mutable sign, this isn't about rigidly controlling everything. Mutable energy is adaptable. It's about noticing what isn't working and being willing to adjust the plan.

This New Moon also forms a supportive connection with Mars, adding motivation and helping turn Virgo's lists and ideas into actual action. So this isn't just a Moon for thinking about what you'd like to improve,  it's one for doing something about it.

August brought a total Solar Eclipse on 12 August and a partial Lunar Eclipse on 27–28 August. Eclipses are astrologically associated with turning points and accelerated change, so you may have noticed that something became clearer, shifted direction or simply couldn't continue in quite the same way.

The Virgo New Moon that follows gives us a chance to process rather than react.

Maybe you don't need another big revelation.

The Hermit steps away from everyone else's noise and holds up his lantern so he can see his own path.

He doesn't illuminate the entire mountain.

He sees enough for the next step.

And that's exactly what this New Moon is asking us to do.

Rather than worrying about where you need to be six months from now, ask:

What do I already know needs changing?
What do I need more clarity around?
What is my next sensible step?

Place The Hermit Tarot card somewhere visible during this New Moon and use it as a reminder that sometimes the answer isn't about doing more, it's about getting quiet enough to recognise what you already know.

🏡 Feng Shui: Declutter to Create Space

And then, of course, we bring in the Feng Shui.

Virgo loves clearing, sorting and organising, making this an ideal New Moon for a good declutter.

But please don't decide you have to clear the entire house in one afternoon!

Pick one area that feels stuck.

Your handbag.
