Spring Equinox & Autumn Balance

Spring Equinox & Autumn Balance: A Cosmic Reset Across Hemispheres

Twice a year, the Earth pauses in perfect equilibrium, day and night standing equal across the globe. The equinox is more than a seasonal shift; it’s a powerful energetic gateway. In the Northern Hemisphere, it marks the arrival of spring, renewal, growth, and awakening. In the Southern Hemisphere, it signals autumn, a time of harvest, reflection, and release.

Different expressions, yet the same sacred invitation: find balance, reset your energy, and realign with your path.

🌞 The Sun Enters Aries: The Astrological New Year

As the equinox unfolds, the Sun moves into Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, officially beginning the astrological new year.

Aries energy is bold, fiery, and initiating. It doesn’t wait, it acts. After the inward, reflective energy of Pisces season, Aries brings a surge of momentum. You may feel:

  • A desire to start something new

  • Increased motivation or clarity

  • A push to take action on long-held ideas

This is the spark, the moment where intention begins to take form.

🌑 New Moon in Pisces: Endings Before Beginnings

Just as Aries invites forward movement, the New Moon in Pisces gently pulls us inward.

Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac, connected to intuition, dreams, and emotional release. This New Moon asks you to:

  • Let go of emotional baggage

  • Close old chapters

  • Rest and reset spiritually

There’s a beautiful paradox here: before we begin again, we must first clear space within ourselves.

This combination, Pisces endings and Aries beginnings, creates a powerful energetic bridge between release and rebirth

🌍 One Earth, Two Seasons

While the energy is shared globally, the physical expression differs:

Northern Hemisphere (Spring):
A time of planting seeds, fresh starts, and stepping into new opportunities. Life begins to bloom again.

Southern Hemisphere (Autumn):
A time of harvesting what has grown, reflecting on lessons, and letting go of what is no longer needed.

No matter where you are, the message is the same:
honour where you are in your cycle, begin or release, but do so consciously.

🧹 Feng Shui for the Seasonal Shift

As the external world changes, your environment should reflect that shift. In feng shui, clearing physical space helps move stagnant energy and invites fresh opportunities.

Here are simple yet powerful ways to align your space:

Dust, corners, and neglected areas hold stagnant energy. A thorough clean reset the flow of chi in your home. Yesterday the sun was shining so I washed all my door mats and runners hung them out to dry and within an our they were all back fresh and clean! With  2 small teenage boys and their friends the amount of traffic that comes in  and walk over these you can only imagine!

Go through files, bills, and documents. Shred or discard what is no longer relevant. This creates mental clarity as much as physical space. I did this today and had so much out of date stuff I even found some in my old married name and in left him 10 years ago 

Clothes carry energy from past versions of yourself. If it no longer fits your current identity, it’s time to release it. I don’t need an excuse to go through my wardrobe, I love a fresh clean up here, my rule of thumb is would I buy it again if it’s a no its out!

Open windows, let in fresh air, and bring in natural elements like plants or flowers. Light and air are powerful energy shifters. Its the first thing I do each day with my little affirmation.

After clearing, pause. Light a candle or sit quietly and set intentions for this new cycle. What are you welcoming in? I have a download called tarot and tools on my website which if you’re stuck on what candles to use for what intentions its all their plus so many other ways to use different areas for intentions.

Tarot Message: Three of Wands

The guiding energy I’ve chosen for this equinox is the Three of Wands, mainly because it is also the sun in Aries card but about reaching positive milestones and looking ahead as to what to plan next. This could be retreating, slowing down or firing up depending on where you live and how you use the energies of the season. For me I shift from planning work events to planning more social events for the summer, I do most of my courses from early Autumn to later spring early summer, and enjoy a few months of easy summer evenings

This card represents expansion, progress, and vision. You’ve already taken the first steps, now you are being asked to look ahead and trust what’s unfolding.

It’s about:

  • Seeing beyond your current horizon

  • Trusting the direction, you’re heading

  • Preparing for growth and opportunity or the next stages in life

There is momentum here. The future is calling, but it requires you to step forward with confidence.

The equinox is a threshold, a moment suspended between past and future, dark and light, rest and action.

This is your invitation to:

  • Release what no longer serves you

  • Clear your physical and emotional space

  • Step forward into a new cycle with intention

Whether you are planting seeds or gathering your harvest, trust that you are exactly where you need to be.

Balance has been restored. Now, you get to choose what comes next

Equinox Blessings wherever you are!
